New Atlanta Residence

Well, at last it has happened. I found – and bought – a place in Atlanta. It's in Virginia-Highland (aka The Highlands), my old neighborhood, and I'm very pleased with it. It's in the first complex (the blue marker) I described in my earlier write up.

I closed a week ago Friday and took physical possession last Tuesday morning after driving into Atlanta the night before. I plan to be here about a month getting everything together for flying into town and needing to have little or nothing with me.

The first few days were a bit hectic but by Friday I had a bed, a desk (okay, it's really just a table) with a computer and printer, and the kitchen basics setup, along with a very high-speed Internet connection installed. So, the really important items are completed (especially the Internet connectivity) and I'm ready to start shopping for a car to keep here.

It has been great to be able to walk the 2 or 3 blocks for dinner in the Highlands and reconnect to my old neighborhood as a resident.

Some pictures from the first day here:

The second story has two bedrooms and a full bathroom with two vanities.

DaveTech has a new world headquarters! (But the national headquarters continues to be in Columbia, of course.)
