DaveTour 2009 Begins
Last Friday, June 5th, I left home and headed west about 750 miles. By evening I had arrived in downtown Denver and have been here for the last couple of days. I have been staying with my friends, Cliff and Brenda Gilbert, as I have several times in the past and, as always, the visit has been great.
I continue to be impressed — and at times amazed — by the vibrancy of Denver's downtown. It is relatively clean, very pedestrian friendly, extremely active at the street level with retail stores and eating and drinking establishments and festivals are almost always taking place. read more »
Two Guys and a Couch - Episode 1
My niece, Kara, has been studying film and video production at the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC).
Her idea for a webisode was recently voted as best by a group of classmates so she and a team of other students set out to produce a video based on that idea.

Christmas in Bavaria
This Christmas I was in Germany. And it was great.
My older niece, Kate, has been living in Garmisch, Bavaria, Germany, since August. My sister Jean (her mother) had been planning to visit her over Christmas with her husband, Don, and other daughter, Kara, and had been inviting my brother, Steve, and me to join for some months.
Over Thanksgiving, Steve and I decided to join them in Germany for the holidays. I left on December 23rd and arrived the morning of Christmas Eve day. It turned out to be a great trip. read more »
Riding the Katy Trail
This past week I rode the full length of the Katy Trail State Park with a lifelong friend, Kent. He had first suggested we do this ride about a year ago and this spring we decided to move ahead with the plan. read more »
Native Prairie Grasses
About a decade ago my father made changes to his beef operation and began including native prairie grasses which he planted in several pastures. His work in this area led to the farm being on agricultural tours and in some interest in the agricultural press. read more »
