Remodeling the Attic Space - part 4
The project is progressing nicely.
The insulation was put in on Friday and the sheetrock installation is to begin tomorrow. Most of the exterior metal trim around the windows has been installed along with just a bit of the siding.
These two shots show the standard exteriors I've been taking. The results of the remodeling are seeming very real now and I'm really looking forward to having it all completed -- and, more to the point, living in it. read more »

I thought I'd do a quick update … as one friend put it when talking about the remodeling work he has had done, "the framing part was very impressive but then things seemed to go slooooow". I wouldn't go that far but you do have to look more closely to see the progress now that the really big stuff is done.

Well, it was finally time to install the bathroom I had known would improve the attic bedroom immensely. The only question was how much I would want to add to the project along way . . .
I had modern (Pella insert) windows put into the house this past spring and was really pleased with the work done by Vineyard Homes, a firm recommended to me by friends who live in the neighborhood (and whose remodeling project really impressed me). read more »
Riding the Katy Trail
This past week I rode the full length of the Katy Trail State Park with a lifelong friend, Kent. He had first suggested we do this ride about a year ago and this spring we decided to move ahead with the plan. read more »
